Our Second Great Marian Procession, led by Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R., begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 from St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, Providence, and processes to the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner Street, Providence, where Bishop Lewandowski will celebrate Holy Mass followed by fellowship, gathering in the Lower Cathedral. SHUTTLE SERVICE AND PARKING ON SAT., OCT. 18: There will be a shuttle running from the Cathedral to St. Mary Church from 7:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. Those attending the Marian Procession may park at the Cathedral and take the shuttle St. Mary's, Broadway to join the Marian Procession. For those who want to park near St. Mary's, Maria's Cucina Restaurant, 447 Broadway, will have capacity for 50 cars. Click for the program and more!
By Laura Kilgus, Associate Editor - PROVIDENCE — The Diocese of Providence will soon embark on a powerful and visible moment of evangelization, an opportunity for the local Church to go forth and joyfully proclaim Jesus through the loving intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Great Marian Procession will take place through the city’s streets. Led by Bishop Bruce A. Lewandowski, C.Ss.R, the walk will begin at St. Mary Church, 538 Broadway, and will process to the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, 30 Fenner St., Providence, where Bishop Lewandowski will celebrate Mass followed by fellowship in the lower cathedral.(PHOTO COURTESY OF CELSO VERA)
