Areas in which the Office of Human Resources provides on-site consultation and support include but are not limited to the following:

Employment

• Assist with the development of job advertisements, applicant screening and job offers
• Facilitate diocesan search committees
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
• Prepare employment documentation
• Administer statutory leaves of absence

Employee Performance Management

• Establish job performance standards
• Conduct coaching discussions
• Develop job performance improvement plans
• Assist with job incident documentation

Job and Salary Administration

• Prepare/update position descriptions
• Provide guidance on maintaining pay equity
• Administer salary adjustments and promotions

Benefits Administration

• Assist agencies/parishes with benefits administration under diocesan umbrella policies
• Assist agencies/parishes with their obligations under FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, etc.
• Provide guidance on benefits continuation requirements after a resignation, termination, retirement, etc.

Other Personnel Support Services

• Ensure compliance with standards as written in the Diocesan Employee Handbook
• Provide guidance on employee discipline and suspensions
