Bishop to Offer ‘Prayer for Our Nation’ on Election Day

(PROVIDENCE) - The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence has announced that Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will celebrate a noon Mass on Election Day in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul to pray for ‘Peace and Reconciliation in our Nation.’   
    
“After a very long and divisive campaign, our nation is wound¬ed, and going forward we will need the peace and harmony that only God can give,” Bishop Tobin said. “In the Mass we will also pray that our newly elected leaders, whoever they are, will gov¬ern with a firm commitment to justice and peace, and respect for human life and dignity.” 

Everyone is invited to take part in the Mass to pray for our country, candidates and elected officials.
