Father Christopher Davenport, 85, Pastor Emeritus of SS. Peter and Paul Parish, West Warwick, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Visitation will be from 8:30 – 9:30am on Wednesday, February 2, in St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of Father’s soul will be offered on Wednesday, February 2, at 10am at St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Parish, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In light of the expected winter weather this weekend, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin has dispensed Catholics of the Diocese of Providence from the obligation to attend Holy Mass this weekend.

The bishop said that observance of the Diocese of Providence’s sesquicentennial this year is a perfect time for everyone to reflect on how the Catholic Charity Appeal has enabled the benevolent mission of the Church for most of those 150 years and how it will position the diocese well to continue that mission into the future.
The Annual Respect for Life Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15 in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence. Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence, will be the main celebrant. The Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be on the altar for veneration during Mass.
