PROVIDENCE — The 2022 Rhode Island Catholic Women’s Conference will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. Hosted by the diocesan Office of Faith Formation, the Catholic Women’s Conference will offer opportunities for prayer, worship and discussion on Catholic womanhood among a diverse group of women of all ages and vocations.

World Mission Sunday, celebrating Catholic missions and missionaries of the world, is observed on the next to last Sunday during the month of October. It is a unique, global effort for the entire Church to provide for the building up of over one thousand churches in Asia and Africa, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe.

I live on a very busy highway, one that sees lots of traffic every day. And of course, over the years, the highway has slowly deteriorated, marked with ever-growing bumps and valleys, potholes and pockets, making the road nearly un-drivable at times, and very noisy too!

PROVIDENCE — The Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul hosted the Diocese of Providence’s annual Wedding Anniversary celebration on Sunday, Oct. 16, honoring some 160 couples from 66 parishes throughout Rhode Island. In addition to celebrating Mass, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin led the pairs in renewing their wedding vows, echoing the promises they made to one another as many as 75 years ago.
