The Gregorian Concert Choir and Festival Orchestra will present a Concert entitled “The Sounds of the Season” at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence on Sunday, December 8 at 3 p.m. The Concert, featuring the music of Advent and Christmas, will benefit the Diocese of Providence “Keep the Heat On” Challenge which assists poor and low income families with utility expenses. Tickets for the Concert may be purchased by calling the Cathedral office at 401-331-2434. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the Concert.

Small shops and cafés line the sides of the street. The smokestacks of an old mill stand as a monument to how this section of one of Rhode Island’s smallest towns was once one of the industrial hubs of Kent County, attracting settlers from throughout the state, and many immigrants who came looking for new opportunities. PAWTUCKET — With Saint Raphael Academy celebrating 50 Years of Women along with its centennial this year, it seems almost destined that the girls sports teams would do something spectacular. Not only did the girls soccer team win 4-3 against Exeter-West Greenwich for the Division III state title, but they did so backed by an unbeaten conference record of 19-0. Reverend D. Bryan Finerty, 89, Pastor Emeritus of the former St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Woonsocket, died recently in Punta Gorda, Florida (Diocese of Venice) where he had resided for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial for the repose of Father's soul will be offered in the Diocese of Venice (Sacred Heart Church) on Thursday, November 21, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin in that church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Charlotte Memorial Gardens, Punta Gorda.
