Safe Environment Training is required in the Diocese for anyone who works or volunteers in any ministry where there may be in contact with children or any vulnerable populations. It is explained in more detail below.
1. All catechists need to have up to date the four elements required in the Safe Environment Program:
A. Background Criminal Investigation Check (Every (3) three years): There is a new form and the Compliance Office requires copies of the front and back of the identification (ID) used.
a. Form needs to be signed with a Notary Public present. Make copies for your records and our records. Form should be process by your parish.
B. Safe Environment In-Service (Every (3) three years) See Document attached with updates.
C. Signed Extract of Policy Procedures in case of Sexual Misconduct (Once in a lifetime)

a. Circle of Grace Prayer and Gestures: Implemented in all SPRED Sessions as December 31, 2014.
b. Circle of Grace Audit: The Diocese of Providence is required by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to collect annually pertinent information for the audit mandated by the Charter for the Protection of Children, Young People and Vulnerable populations. Leader complete Audit forms. Report is required yearly.
